MDGA Production Award Rules
- Production awards time frames are for the last completed lactation of no more than 305 days ending between April 1 of the prior year and March 31 of the current year. The cutoff for completed lactations will be March 31 of the current year – Example: Awards presented in 2024 are for lactations completed April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024.
- Please submit a copy of the DHIR Individual Doe Page for the last completed lactation of each nominated doe. If a doe is on an extended lactation, please submit the DHIR record of her 305 total for that lactation where the 305-day record is within the award year. These are the only lactation records that will be accepted as proof. The owner must clearly indicate from the Doe Page which Lactation they are submitting for the award. 2023 Awards (presented in 2024) awards are for lactations completed between April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024.
- Complete the online submission form with the required copy of the records attached.
- DEADLINE: Entries must be submitted via online submission form no later than July 1st of the current year. Entries received with a submission date after July 1st will be discarded.
- The Production program is open to all current MDGA members. The member must be the current owner of the animal whose records are being submitted. The cost to enter a qualifying doe shall be free to members, and Certificates of Award will be emailed at no cost at the close of the competition to those who qualify.
- Awards will be presented during the MN State Fair. Does showing at the State Fair will have their records considered for State Fair production awards as well as the MDGA production awards. Owners not present at the State Fair will have their awards forwarded.
- Production award recipients will be published by the MDGA.
